TUCSON, Ariz. (13 News) - Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos says the man arrested in the disappearance of his missing father, Sitharamanjaneyulu Potiny, is out on bail.

42-year-old Vamsi Potiny was charged with vulnerable adult abuse and endangerment. He was ordered held on $50,000 bond.

Court documents explain why the man’s son was arrested in connection with the case.

Sitharamanjaneyulu Potiny, 72, was reported missing on Aug. 29. At that time, authorities said he was last seen near West Valencia Road and South Camino Verde. A Silver Alert was issued for Sitharamanjaneyulu the same day.

The PCSD said Sitharamanjaneyulu, who suffers from a medical condition that causes him to become confused and easily lost, was wearing a blue shirt and blue pants.
