NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — One park in East Nashville will be blooming with activity this weekend.
Shelby Park and Bottoms will see several events take place throughout the park starting Friday morning, with plenty of talk of native wildflowers like those found at the park.

According to the Friends of Shelby Park and Bottoms, the weekend of fun kicks off at 9 a.m. with a guided hike via the Shelby Walking Club.
Native plant expert Bieke Puncochar will take the club on the guided hike and share information about all the wildflowers that grow in the park.
The walk coincides with the "superbloom," according to Friends members. This time of year is "peak bloom season," per the Friends. One meadow in the park was previously a field of mowed grass, the Friends said. It was re
