CAMBRIDGE, Mass. —

A Massachusetts man was arraigned Wednesday on charges of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon and civil rights violation charges in connection with the disruption of a protest in Cambridge in August.

Prosecutors said Matthew Freeman wielded a hatchet at a pro-Palestinian demonstration in Harvard Square on Aug. 10. Latest Forecast

A social media video shows a man, who prosecutors said is Freeman, driving past the demonstration, claiming the group was blocking JFK Street. The man screamed at the group and at one point got out of his car, wielding what appeared to be a hatchet, before driving away.

Court records do not specify who Freeman allegedly assaulted and battered.
