Ardmore residents can breathe a sigh of relief as the town lifts its boil water order after days of water issues. The advisory, which required residents to boil water for three minutes before use, was put in place when the water returned on Tuesday.
Ardmore Mayor Billy Shannon explained that the town's troubles began over the weekend when the Limestone County Water Authority instructed Ardmore to disconnect due to tank issues. A major leak in Ardmore's main well was discovered and has since been fixed.
Limestone County had to cut off Ardmore on Sunday because their tanks were running low after exceeding their pumping contract. The fire department provided potable water during the shortage and urged residents to conserve water.
