A rural farm property in Sturgeon County was shut down Wednesday for more than month after multiple investigations into illegal drug activity by Alberta’s Safer Communities and Neighbourhoods (SCAN) unit.
SCAN executed a search warrant around 12 p.m. Wednesday at a rural farm property near Highway 28A in Sturgeon County as the result of an investigation into illegal drug use and criminal activity on the property that began in April 2024, Alberta Sheriffs said in a Thursday news release.

SCAN inspector Andrew Albers told Postmedia they learned of the potential drug activity on the property through multiple complaints from area residents and businesses, as well as information provided by the RCMP that showed a history of drug activity on the property.
