A man, who shot and killed a 26-year-old in 2022, has been sentenced to life in prison.
According to court documents released Sept. 4 from the Minnehaha County State’s Attorney’s Office, a weeklong trial resulted in the 130-year sentencing in the case of Darrian Lamar Johnson, who shot and killed Kaisean Tyler on Sept. 2, 2022, at an apartment complex in Sioux Falls.
“Today’s sentence delivers justice for victims and sends a clear message that violent crime in this community will be met with harsh punishment,” said Minnehaha County State’s Attorney Daniel Haggar. “Victims, eyewitnesses, the Sioux Falls Police Department Crimes Against Persons Unit and prosecutors worked tirelessly to bring the truth of (Johnson’s) terrible crimes to light.”
