MOSINEE – A few weeks ago, to open the regular season, Mosinee’s football team accomplished something they hadn’t in over a decade. They beat the reigning Division 5 champions, Stratford, in a regular season game.
The key win was the first piece to the overall puzzle, but ultimately one that set an early foundation of what the Indians believed they could be this season.
“That was a huge win for us,” Mosinee coach Kyle Stoffel said. “Obviously, we hadn't beaten them in a long time, so to go out there and beat a very high quality team week one boosted our confidence and kind of reassured that we have a really good team this year.”
The Indians, led by senior quarterback Treve Stoffel, presented a handful of complications to the Tigers in their week one matchup.
