HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WHNT) — It looks like this year's Huntsville Christmas Parade will be 'very merry.'

MIX 96.9 and the Von Braun Center announced the details, including the theme, for the 11th Annual Huntsville Christmas Parade on Thursday. Over 500 people voted for the theme of this year's parade, and in the end, "A Very Merry Christmas" was chosen.

"This theme really brings us back to the heart of the holidays," WSRA Program Director and Morning Show Host Abby Kay said.

The parade will take place on December 2 at 6 p.m. and will be presented for the first time by Food City. It starts on Clinton Avenue near the U.S. Post Office, and then it will travel east through downtown Huntsville, before ending near AM Booth's Lumberyard.
