The Red Sox face an interesting offseason when it comes to two of their star players.
Trevor Story and Alex Bregman can opt out of their contracts this winter. While Boston has locked up other players this season including Roman Anthony , Aroldis Chapman and Garrett Crochet , the same can’t be said about the two infielders.
ESPN’s Jeff Passan released his early offseason and free agency predictions and included Story and Bregman. When it comes to Bregman, the MLB insider believes he will opt out of his deal and become a free agent, “barring an injury or catastrophic slump.”
Bregman signed a three-year, $120 million deal with the Red Sox in February. It included opt outs after the first two seasons. The veteran infielder is batting .281 with 16 home runs and 54 RBI and has be
