CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. (KFVS) - Cape for a Cure is set for 4 to 7 p.m. on Saturday, September 13 at the Elks Lodge.
Organizers say there will be live music by Pastor Bob Lenz, food trucks, games and a silent auction.
All proceeds will be donated to the Alzheimer’s Association.
The event is free to attend.
At 5:30 p.m., there will be a showcase featuring new advancements in testing and technology for caregivers.
Family nurse practitioner Preston Holifield said a major reason for the event is to raise awareness for early detection and diagnosis.
“We have something that empowers us to help identify this disease, this very burdensome disease, not only for the patients, but the care givers, earlier, and get them to those neurologists.”
