BRAINERD — Brainerd better get used to defending the triple option this season.

The Warriors’ first of four road games is also the first of four triple-option opponents they’ll see this season when they travel to Duluth East Friday, Sept. 5.

The Greyhounds (1-0) escaped with a thrilling 34-29 win over Rock Ridge in Week One, which saw them come back from down 29-12.

“It was a very exciting win,” Duluth East head coach Blane Tetreault said. “We are making some roster moves to be prepared to play a Brainerd team that will be more athletic and bigger physically than our opponent last week.”

Brainerd’s opening win saw thrills of its own. Sophomore quarterback Bo Schwartz hit sophomore Jake Merseth for a 38-yard touchdown pass and the Warriors’ defense stopped Buffalo’s field goal to win 28
