VIRGINIA (WWBT)—A new federal regulation is tightening restrictions on who can get a COVID-19 vaccination.
On Wednesday, the FDA approved the new round of COVID-19 vaccinations, but limited the shots to people 65 and older, or anyone with a health condition that puts them at high risk of getting the illness.
Virginia is just one of several states now requiring local pharmacies like CVS and Walgreens to adhere to the regulation and only give vaccinations to those eligible or who have a prescription.
“I don’t think that’s good,” said one Richmond neighbor. “Who knows people may not be able to afford to get it at a clinic or a doctor? Cause you can get them free at the pharmacy, right?”
