ST. GEORGE, Utah (ABC4) — St. George Police are investigating an assault incident that occurred on the Halfway Wash Trail on Wednesday.

Police say a woman on the trail was assaulted in the area of 1300 West and 1130 North on Wednesday morning. She was taken to the hospital due to her injuries, and investigators say they're still searching for the suspect.

Officers have not been able to interview the victim since she went to the hospital, but hope to learn more when they do. In the meantime, St. George Police are reviewing surveillance footage from cameras near the trail and are increasing patrols in the area.
