State officials are looking at making a big play to make sure professional basketball stays in Connecticut. They’re looking at a bid to buy a minority stake in the Connecticut Sun.

“Connecticut is a pretty underrepresented state in professional sports,” Luca Marino, of Wallingford, said.

People in Hartford are happy to have the Connecticut Sun in state, but recent reports of a multi-million-dollar bid to move the team out of Connecticut are having some concerned.

“I’ll feel sad. I wouldn’t like that,” Isis Wiley, of Hartford, said.

Lieutenant Governor Susan Bysiewicz wants the team to stay. She confirmed to NBC Connecticut the state was looking at bidding for a minority stake in the sun.
