Making a grand impact in the North Little Rock community is Maranda Davis. Davis is a longtime friend of Officer Tommy Norman, who is giving people a chance to start their own career with her beauty school, Esthetic Excellence Academy.

"This woman and what she does is amazing," said Norman.

The students enrolled are able to earn their license in aesthetics, cosmetology, and manicuring.

"People assume the beauty community is just easy," said Davis, who understands that it's a rough path for many

"It's not really just about school. It's about understanding that everyone in front of you has went through something. So, you can either be a part of their trauma, or you can be a part of healing their trauma," David added.
