The 2025 NFL Kickoff Game between the Dallas Cowboys and defending Super Bowl champion Philadelphia Eagles has been suspended due to inclement weather in Philadelphia.
A weather delay was issued with the Eagles leading the Cowboys, 24-20, with 4:44 remaining in the third quarter after a severe thunderstorm warning was issued by the National Weather Service. The warning was expected to last until around 11:15 p.m. local time and play is expected to resume.
The following message was shown on the jumbotron at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia:
A severe thunderstorm warning has been issued by the National Weather Service for our area. These storms may produce severe conditions, including lightning and strong winds.
