CINCINNATI (WXIX) - A 20–year-old Oakley man was charged earlier this week after the FBI were alerted by Fairfax police after a chop shop scheme was uncovered.
Police alerted the FBI after they were contacted by Ohio Bureau of Motor Vehicles employees about suspicious Texas titles. Officers said the group of individuals behind this operation are some of the most sophisticated they’ve seen.
“These young 18 and 19 year old kids and they were curious why these kids are showing up in 50 or 100+ thousand dollar vehicles,” Detective Aaron McLearen said.
Cole Watson of Oakley appeared in federal court on Tuesday on one count of operating a chop shop, interstate transportation of stolen property and aggravated identity theft. His counterparts Raymond Lizak and Noah Mart are also facing multipl
