ALLENDALE, Mich. (WOOD) — Grand Valley State University students are grappling with car thefts, break ins and a recent stabbing on their campus, all within the first few days of classes.
In an effort to tighten security and prevent more incidents, the school is enforcing stricter policies for visitors on campus, like required guest registration in living spaces, a limit of one visitor per student, extended quiet hours, and restricted entry into some residence halls. Students will also need to show their ID to enter living spaces.
The new safety rules and regulations here on campus went into effect Thursday. Students told News 8 they feel its a good thing and a step in the right direction, but still hope more can be done.
