MOORHEAD — Cruise Night kicked off this week’s Greater Moorhead Days on Thursday, Sept. 4, with classic cars, food and community spirit filling the M State lot.

Attendees gathered despite chilly weather to see custom-painted cars, grab meals like hot dogs and tacos in a bag and enjoy the event’s tradition. The Moorhead Public Library also joined the festivities.

This year’s Cruise Night featured 28 cars, the lowest total of the four Cruise Nights held in 2025. But event organizer Bill Bartholomay said rain, cold or shine, he knew they couldn’t cancel.

Bartholomay lost 11 cars in a fire earlier this year and said the opportunity to bring people together means more than ever.
