A former Eagles star and a key member of last year’s Super Bowl team will be watching Philadelphia’s season opener against the Cowboys from the other side of the state.
Darius Slay, a Pro Bowl cornerback with the Eagles, is with the Pittsburgh Steelers now. But Slay is eager for Thursday night’s unveiling of the Eagles’ Super Bowl LIX banner.
“It’s gonna be crazy. It’s gonna be lit,” Slay told reporters in Pittsburgh on Thursday. “I’m thankful where I’m at today. But of course as a player and as a contributor, it’s nice to see. ... I’m always going to be thankful for the Philadelphia Eagles.”
Slay earned his first Super Bowl title of his career when the Eagles took down the Kansas City Chiefs, 40-22. Slay was an integral piece to Philadelphia’s puzzle, starting 14 regular-season games
