LITTLE ROCK, Ark. — The atmosphere at Park Plaza turned electric Thursday night as fans dressed head-to-toe in red gathered for the Red in the Rock Tailgate, a celebration leading up to Saturday’s long-awaited matchup between the University of Arkansas Razorbacks and the Arkansas State University Red Wolves at War Memorial Stadium.

Former A-State cheerleader Colea Long said the moment is one she’s dreamed about for years.

“I was an Arkansas State Cheerleader and I have been wanting the game for years and so it’s finally here,” Long said. “I’m happy for the city to be excited about it as well — and go Red Wolves.”

For some families, the game is stirring up a friendly rivalry. Raymond Long admitted he’ll be pulling for the Razorbacks, though his household tells a different story.
