BEAUMONT, Texas — With high school football back in full swing, Christus Orthopedics and Sports Medicine Institute has launched a Saturday clinic to treat sports-related injuries, giving student-athletes faster access to care.
The clinic, located on Metropolitian Drive, will be open from 8 to 11 a.m. every Saturday through November. Christus officials said the program is designed to address injuries that happen during late-week games, when athletes might otherwise have to wait until Monday to see a doctor.
“The end of the week is big in Texas, especially in the fall,” said Christus orthopedic surgeon Dr. Michael Trice. “If you have an injury on a Friday or on a Thursday, often you can’t get into an orthopedist’s office and you want to get answers quickly.”
