Twin sisters Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen , 39, rarely step out in public anymore, but they both went to high-profile events this week – though on separate coasts!

Mary-Kate (pictured left) was spotted sitting in the stands at the U.S. Open on Wednesday night (September 3) in New York City. She was joined by a friend while watching matches on Day 11 of the tennis tournament.

On the other side of the country, Ashley (pictured right) stepped out on the red carpet for the YES Scholars 25th Anniversary Gala on Thursday night (September 4) in Los Angeles.
