LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – The University of Arkansas at Little Rock's soccer team has a new method of staying cool under pressure.
On Thursday, university and city officials cut the ribbon on a new state-of-the-art playing surface at the Coleman Sports and Recreation Complex, an upgrade officials are calling a "game changer."
The new surface, a FieldTurf CoolPlay system, was installed in July. Its innovative design is engineered to reduce surface temperatures by up to 35 degrees, helping to prevent heat retention and improve player safety and comfort during practices and games.
Trojans athletic director Frank Cuervo said that the field can position the program for success in the future.
