ST. JOHNS, AZ (AZFamily) — The father of 10-year-old Rebekah Baptiste and his girlfriend, both accused of murdering the girl in Apache County , both faced a judge in court Thursday, where some disturbing new evidence was unveiled.

The preliminary hearing lasted three hours in St. Johns. There was testimony and evidence. It all painted a heartbreaking and violent picture of the last months of Rebekah’s life.

Prosecutors presented 95 pieces of evidence at the hearing for Richard Baptiste and Anicia Woods. Both are charged with murder.

Initially, the defense asked for more time to go over everything.

“That’s the most I’ve ever seen in a prelim hearing,” the defense attorney for Richard Baptiste said.
