OPINION

I still have a very vivid memory of my first AFL game. Catching the footy express to Football Park for a Showdown, I would have been no older than seven.

Honestly at the time (as it is for most young football fans) it was the spectacle that drew me in - the bright lights, the inflatable noisemakers handed out pregame (which continued to annoy my parents for days post-game), and of course the crowd.
