The Dallas Cowboys are elevating former Pittsburgh Steelers linebacker Buddy Johnson from the practice squad to their active roster before their game against the Philadelphia Eagles .

Johnson has been with the Cowboys scene 2023 and was cut by the team during final cuts but re-joined on the practice squad. Over his NFL career, he had 14 total tackles and has played in 20 games. He played in 14 games for the Cowboys a season ago as a special teamer.

The Steelers’ fourth-round draft pick in 2021 out of Texas A&M, he spent just one season with the Steelers before they released him after training camp in 2022. Following that, Johnson departed the organization, heading to the San Francisco 49ers and Houston Texans over the next year.
