For those who have been followers of Jesus for a long time, we understand that there are spiritual battles we face both big and small. In the journey of spiritual warfare, one of the most powerful yet often overlooked weapons is submission. James 4:7 begins with a clear directive: “Submit yourselves therefore to God.” This is not passive surrender, it’s a bold act of trust and alignment with heaven’s authority.
Jesus modeled this perfectly. In Matthew 4, we see Him led by the Spirit into the wilderness, not into comfort, but into confrontation. He fasted for forty days, isolated and hungry, yet fully obedient to the Father’s will. His submission wasn’t just about enduring hardship and temptation, it was about embracing the Father’s plans, even when it led into difficulty.
