We’re seeking input from residents of Kauaʻi and Hawaiʻi island about how we can best meet their current and future information needs.

As Civil Beat works to improve and expand its coverage of the neighbor islands, we want to hear what Big Island and Kauaʻi residents think about their sources of local news — an effort to make our work as useful to you and your community as possible.

Our first step is a survey to better understand whether these communities have access to the news they need to navigate life, and what they’re looking for from local news providers. Our goal isn’t to compete with other outlets; it’s to provide additional coverage in areas where we can best contribute.
