Australia’s most secretive military project has finally been unveiled, with the Ghost Bat drone taking to the skies above Woomera in a dramatic first public flight demonstration.

The Boeing MQ-28 Ghost Bat represents Australia’s first fully homegrown aircraft design and build in more than 50 years, marking a significant milestone for the nation’s defence capabilities.

Two Ghost Bats performed aerial manoeuvres above outback South Australia , showcasing the billion-dollar military drone that has been eight years in the making.

“We have developed and produced a world-leading, the world-leading collaborative combat aircraft currently,” officials said during the demonstration.
