Daly Cherry-Evans has farewelled Manly, and possibly the NRL, on a high after kicking the decisive field goal in a chaotic 27-26 defeat of the Warriors.

From a misstep that helped the visitors score the NRL’s fastest-ever try, to a pinpoint 40/20 kick, Cherry-Evans produced a bit of everything in his 352nd and last game for the Sea Eagles.

But the superstar halfback could not inspire the mammoth win required to prolong both Manly’s unlikely finals hopes and his own storied career on the Northern Beaches.

Cherry-Evans kicked a left-footed field goal from directly in front of the posts to put the Sea Eagles up seven points in the five minutes, with Manly teammates mobbing their captain.
