Warm and humid conditions are set to make a brief return to Massachusetts on Friday ahead of a cold front that could bring showers and thunderstorms this weekend.

Rain is expected early Friday morning as the frontal boundary moves west to east across the region, with the occasional rumble of thunder possible. The rain should give way to clear skies for the rest of the morning, followed by a warm and muggy afternoon with a blend of sun and clouds.

Temperatures should hit the low to mid 80s, though the South Coast will remain on the cooler side, with highs in the upper 70s. Dew points will be noticeably higher than earlier this week, making the air feel slightly warmer than it actually is.

The summer-like heat and humidity continue into Saturday, with highs returning to the low to mid 80s
