Just over a week from the August 26 election, Hoover Mayor-elect Nick Derzis announced his transition team. The team will be led by chairman Michael J. Davis, with B.J. Ellis serving as vice chairman. Included among familiar names to people of the City of Hoover are former Hoover city attorney Charlie Waldrep, who will serve as legal counsel. Former CFO Melinda Lopez is also serving on the committee.
The team, which includes eight committees, will focus on key areas, "including education and workforce development, public safety, economic growth, infrastructure, fiscal accountability, parks and recreation, and quality of life," according to a press release.
