A twistedly dark comedy drama about four generations of the same Irish family trying to enjoy a 90th birthday party is playing on the B2 stage at Coventry's Belgrade Theatre now.
Consumed centres around the 90th birthday party of Great Granny Eileen (Julia Dearden), arranged by her daughter Gilly (Andrea Irvine), with the two more generations on the way - Gilly's daughter Jenny (Caoimhe Farren) and granddaughter Muireann (Muireann Ní Fhaogáin).
Visceral and hilarious dialogue from writer Karis Kelly is beautifully delivered with love and at times menace from the cast, overseen by director Katie Posner.
