SALT LAKE CITY — Utah’s Division of Consumer Protection and the Federal Trade Commission announced Tuesday a proposed consent order requiring Aylo, parent company of Pornhub and Redtube, to overhaul its operations and pay $5 million to settle allegations it distributed child sexual abuse material and non-consensual content.

The settlement follows claims that since 2012, Aylo hosted tens of thousands of illegal videos and ignored hundreds of thousands of user flags. Some members of the company’s compliance team allegedly described Pornhub as “a goldmine” for rape content.

“This consent order is an important step in protecting people from some of the most harmful and exploitative material online,” Gov. Spencer Cox said in a statement.
