TYLER, Texas — The trial for a man accused of murdering a Tyler taqueria owner last October continued into its eighth day on Friday.
Scotty Lee Goble, of Frost, is charged with murder in the death of Heriberto “Eddie” Ramirez Jr., 38, of Tyler. Ramirez, co-owner of Junior’s Taqueria, was shot in the restaurant’s parking lot on Oct. 11, 2024. Goble pleaded not guilty last week, with his attorneys arguing self-defense.
Arrest documents state that an argument began over a drink order and escalated when Goble’s son Justin Goble slammed a door. Goble then set his 9-month-old child in a car seat near the door, and a fight broke out in the parking lot. Goble pulled out a gun and shot Ramirez.
