George Edward Tanguay, formerly of Cumberland, R.I., Ashland, Mass. and Falmouth, Maine, left this world peacefully on Aug. 28, 2025.

Born in Cumberland on March 15, 1939 he was the son of the late William and Theresa (George) Tanguay. George was preceded in death by his brother, William Tanguay Jr.

George lived 86 years as a kind, funny, hardworking, loving, determined man. He married Dorothy Plante in 1960, and they remained married until her death in 2015. Together, they traveled to many destinations and enjoyed exploring all corners of the world. Undoubtedly, their favorite place to spend time was their home on Highland Lake in Falmouth, Maine.

George is survived by his children Janet Tetschner (Frank), Lori Tanguay, George Tanguay Jr. (Erin) and Ronda Palin (Jon) and eight beloved
