The colorful Mexican celebration of Día de Muertos is just around the corner, and Mattel has kicked it off by unveiling a Barbie and Ken doll to honor the tradition.
This year’s Día de Muertos Barbie Doll includes Barbie in a dropping multi-tiered gown, while Ken sports a traditional charro outfit.

Both Barbie and Ken have their skull face makeup to resemble the famous "catrinas" as a way of paying homage to those who have passed. Their outfits are also embroidered with the commonly used marigold (cempasúchil) flower.
Ari Sarinana, this year’s Día de Muertos designer, made sure to use all the elements that make this celebration complete.
