A Pennsylvania coroner’s office has determined the cause of death of Dan Rivera , a Connecticut paranormal investigator and one of the handlers of the famed Annabelle doll.

The 54-year-old died of natural causes as a result of cardiac issues, according to Adams County Coroner Francis Dutrow.

“Mr. Rivera had a known history of cardiac issues, which were consistent with the findings,” Dutrow said in a statement.

Rivera was in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, for the "Devils on the Run Tour" with the allegedly haunted doll when he died in his hotel room on July 13, according to the New England Society for Psychic Research, a paranormal research group that hosts the traveling exhibition.
