KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WATE) — Suspended Lady Vols Basketball player Ruby Whitehorn has accepted a diversion plea agreement after she was arrested in Knox County following a domestic incident last month.
In exchange for a judicial diversion, Whitehorn entered a plea for two misdemeanors, which was one count of aggravated vandalism and one count of trespassing. The most serious charges in the case were dismissed and expunged.
"Ruby Whitehorn is an excellent student athlete and we were pleased with a lot of hard work and investigation by all the parties that we were able to resolve this case," Whitehorn's attorney, Greg Isaacs said. "Ms. Whitehorn looks forward to focusing her attentions at the University of Tennessee and we'll have no further comment."
