SCOTT CITY, Mo. (WSIL) -- New information was released in connection to a 26-year-old who died during an incident at a quarry in Scott City recently.
A representative with the Scott County Coroner's Office earlier reported Ethan Amberger, 26 of Perryville, died on August 25, during the morning hours after an incident at the Colt Rock & Lime quarry in Scott City.
The incident is now under investigation with the Mine Safety and Health Administration (MSHA) which recently released a preliminary report of the accident.
MSHA stated in a report, Ethan Amberger was a mine employee who "died after the haul truck he was driving went through a berm in the haul road, over a highwall, and overturned into water in the pit."
The incident happened in the open pit area with a total of eight employees
