WAXHAW, N.C. — The man accused of robbing a State Employees' Credit Union in Waxhaw on Thursday was arrested Friday morning.

The suspect, Diamonte Williams, walked into the SECU branch on South Province Road and handed the teller a note demanding cash, according to Waxhaw police. After the teller gave Williams the money, he left, got into a vehicle and drove away.

Police said Williams did not have a weapon during the robbery and that no one was hurt.

Authorities later identified Williams as the suspect and gathered a joint arrest team with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department. He was then arrested Friday without incident at a Charlotte business.

Williams is charged with common law robbery and felony larceny. He is being held at the Union County Jail, according to police.
