Two 17-year-olds have been charged as adults with murder in the deadly shooting of 21-year-old congressional intern Eric Tarpinian-Jachym in June , authorities said Friday.

A third person remains sought by police, U.S. Attorney for D.C. Jeanine Pirro said. The suspects were in a stolen car when they opened fire and Tarpinian-Jachym was shot four times.

Tarpinian-Jachym was in D.C. for the summer for an internship in Republican Rep. Ron Estes of Kansas' office.

Pirro said the teen suspects both had “prior violent juvenile records." She spoke about the need to crack down on teens who commit crimes.

“The D.C. Council thinks they need to be protected. They don’t need to be protected. We need to be protected,” she said.
