CHANNING Tatum has lost a notable amount of weight while shooting for his role in the upcoming film Roofman.

He's going to be playing the part of a real-life criminal called Jeffrey Manchester , who famously escaped prison and hid inside of a Toys R Us store for months.

After needing to gain weight for his previous role as Damien in the movie Josephine, the actor had to lose a hefty 70 pounds for Roofman.

This was a significant weight change that hasn't been easy on his body and has left those around him feeling concerned.

"I had just done a role earlier that year, and I got up to 240 [pounds]," Channing said in an interview with Variety.

"I only planned to get down to 185. Once I was already going [with] the days of shooting, it kept coming off. I got down to 172."
