Gov. Jeff Landry will pay $900 to settle charges brought by the Louisiana Board of Ethics for failing to disclose free private flights he accepted while he was attorney general, a violation of state ethics laws.
The charges stem from flights Landry took in 2021 to Hawaii for a conference of the Attorney General Alliance. He traveled free of charge on a plane owned by Greg Mosing, a political donor.
State ethics laws require public officials to report to the ethics board complimentary admission, lodging and transportation they receive as part of their work. The legality of the flights themselves was never at issue in the charges against the governor.
