COLUMBUS, Ga. (WRBL) — The Columbus Police Department has arrested a woman who allegedly admitted to leaving her newborn baby in a dumpster behind a motel on Tuesday.

According to CPD, on Sept. 2 around 6:30 p.m., Columbus Police officers responded to the 3100 block of Victory Drive after a newborn baby was discovered in a dumpster. The infant was taken to Piedmont Columbus Regional for treatment and is in stable condition.
