Two teens have been arrested in connection with the murder of a 21-year-old Capitol Hill intern.

Eric Tarpinian-Jachym, 21, who was interning at the office of Kansas Republican Representative Ron Estes, died in a shooting near the Walter E. Washington Convention Center in Washington D.C. on June 30.

Police said Tarpinian-Jachym did not appear to be the target of the shooting but was killed by stray gunfire when a group of suspects exited a vehicle and opened fire on a group of people.

Metropolitan Police Department Chief Pamela Smith said on Friday, that two 17-year-olds have been arrested, with a third arrest pending.

Both teens will be charged as adults.
