New York Times best-selling author Lauren Groff is the speaker for the University of Toledo’s Sept. 9 Edward Shapiro Lecture.
Ms. Groff is the author of The Monsters of Templeton, Arcadia, Fates and Furies, and Matrix, and the short-story collection Delicate Edible Birds and Florida. A graduate of Amherst College, she also has master’s degree of fine arts in fiction from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
“In her lectures, Groff captivates audiences with thoughtful reflections on the writing craft and discussion of the influences and inspiration behind her bestselling works,” a news release from the university said.
The lecture is from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Sept. 9 in Doermann Theatre in University Hall, 2925 W. Bancroft St. Parking is free for the event, organizers said.
