MONROE, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) -- A mother has been arrested after Monroe Police say she dropped off her child at a relative's home and did not tell anyone, leading the child to wander by himself.
Around 10:05 a.m. on Friday, September 5, multiple people called 911 to report a 3-year-old boy wandering alone in his underwear near Concord Avenue. A Good Samaritan stayed with the child until officers arrived.
Officers were able to identify the little boy and found out that this was the second time in the last few months that he had been found wandering by himself near Concord Avenue.
The child's mother, 26-year-old Tanisja Clyburn, had reportedly left her son at a relative's house and left the area without telling anyone that the boy was there.
