West Texas A&M University has reintroduced its on-campus childcare facility with a new name, a new director and a new endowment aimed at strengthening support for student parents and their families.

For more than 30 years, the center has been a lifeline for WT students with children — helping parents complete degrees while giving their children a strong educational start.

The program, founded in 1994 and long known as Kids Kollege, is now the WT Child Development Center. University leaders said the change reflects a more accurate picture of what the center provides: not only care, but also early learning and preparation for children entering the K-12 system.
